Evans and her husband, Richie, launched their thriving micro-business in 2007 and demand has proven that people are prepared to pay a premium for a handmade luxury Christmas pudding.
It has also shown the Devon-based entrepreneur that there’s life beyond the corporate world (she was previously a marketing manager) and that it’s possible to run a business, choose your own hours and even home-school your children.
“That freedom drives me to succeed,” says Evans, who says the internet has enabled countless entrepreneurs to dip their toe into a business venture while still working full-time.
Top tip: “If you’ve been working in an office, you’re going to miss the team environment – so recreate one by getting involved with local organisations like the Chamber of Commerce.”
